Back In Business

HELLO! Well, I've been on... sabbatical for the last month and I've decided to get back into letting the people around me know what's going on in my life. Number one, my family. Especially my sister across the country. Number two, Cecilly. Because she has become a devote blogger, and we love story swaps. What other way to do so besides web 2.0?

The last month has been eventful. I went home a second time, and a third for Thanksgiving. State-wide blizzard warnings, snow storms larger than blizzards, long treks, great food, family chats, campus closure, Harry Potter, Tangled, school, mission plans, discovery, just dance, just dance 2, friend wedding plans, guitar arrangements, next semester registry, and much more. Wow. Much more eventful than I thought.

I do know that is a lot of information, and that I can't talk about it all in one post, so if anything particularly awesome pops up into my head, I'll be sure to post.

BUT, I'll just start with today :)

I woke up, still not feeling well, and went and took a quiz )the last assessment until finals week I might add), then headed home. I was starving because I hadn't eaten very much the last several days so I decided I definitely deserved a quesadilla, ramen, and a giant glass of eggnog. But, my stomach had other plans. It was definitely upset with my for my previous. So I struggled all throughout institute for my poor decision making skills. Later, I made jalapeno corn! mmmm. Then caught up on some TV. Gotta love Grey's.

I'm really excited to see where I go on my mission! It's so exciting to think in six months, I could be in New York, England, China, Spain, Brazil, or even Wyoming. My mission is going to do some good for me, and I'm excited for the outcome. Although I'm nervous for the trials that will be placed in front of me, I know I'll have extra help. I've also been thinking a lot about what happens after a mission. I really want to pursue my aspiration of medical school, but it'll probably change within the next two years. I'm thinking of attending the U once I return. I'm really excited about this.

I recently visited the U for a medical student program, and LOVED it. I loved SLC as well! I had never been to SLC for a personal trip. It's always been to family's homes in surrounding cities, or FBLA/DECA trips and we stay in the hotel, and of course the Vernal trip to the gateway. But other than that, first trip! I had an exciting time walking on campus, visiting the dorms, and going to nightmare on 13th. I think Salt Lake will be a perfect city for me to live in and pursue a degree. Cedar is good, but it's small and very far away. I want a university experience of having more than 20,000 students attending, and the sports teams are a big deal, and an academic challenge. It all attracts me, and I can't wait. PS I do have a story for you, about the med program I attended at the U. I'll tell you later, for now it's bed time

Duerme bien.

Just Sayin'

Tonight was DA BOMB. I had such a good day today! GREAT review in Chemistry, and now I'm actually liking the class. I know, I know weird. But, now I'm thinking something chemistry for my major. I am REALLY liking it and it just makes so much sense. But after a great chem class, I had a review day in math! It was just the best to understand everything and not be behind. On Thursdays my math professor doesn't come because it's review days so she has her TA come answer our questions. Her name is Ashley and she is freakin amazing, like the sauce. She is so smart!

After a great review day, and no homework to do, I came home and made a peanut butter-banana-honey samich. YUMM. And had some grapes with it. Then I went partay shopping with RAAA, Xoch, and Kelsey. AKA Eccles C204. Karlee(RAAA) is the RA and was throwing her floor a Halloween party. Since I live there more than some of the other roommates, I was invited too. It was a very fun night. Played the skittle game, watched Hocus Pocus and then made caramel apples. I love just hanging out with friends and having a great time. It makes me feel like this could be home, and forget about the mice that are taking over my apartment.

I just love Halloween. I love fall, and a fun holiday makes it even better. In SUUSA (SUU's student government) we're (freshman board) is in charge of a room at the Howl's haunted house. YAY. I love being a part of things, and this is just thing to get me in busy mode again. I'm the type of person that likes to be busy errry day, and I'm so excited to get in the helping mood. We're also doing a casino night in like two weeks and it's going to be the bomb.com. I'm just sad this might be my last year here so I'm going to make the best out of it :)

Loves all my fellow readers. Peace out, A-town.

PS, I did not know that the dumb blond witch in Hocus Pocus is Sarah jessica parker. OKAY. I loved watching it! Brings back memories. Now gotta bring out Halloweentown.

Best Day

Okay so something magical happened. Absolutely NO homework today! (Well at least nothing that is due tomorrow) So I'm just happy kid. Also, it's raining! Life just got amazing today.

To match a great day comes a great meal. I'm hoping for some homemade chicken alfredo with broccoli and cheese sauce, some garlic Italian bread, and I REALLY want some apple pie. But we'll see about that.
Doesn't this pic look amazing. I can not wait to have some. Just sayin.

I'm really excited to go back home this weekend. It is going to be epic. All of my high school friends are meeting up in Vernal and we're just going to party like it's 2009. Casey and I were sad we were missing Vernal's Halloween holiday treats, so we're going to go to either the haunted woods or the corn maze. Then we're going to watch movies at my house and eat yummy foods.

So I've been pondering life lately and just trying to figure everything out. I'm really excited for my mission because it's going to help me with everything. It's just going to be awesome.

I had a great time on Monday. I got to go to St. George and spend some time with my friends, and eat Tejas (Texas) road house for my first time. It was AMAZING. I just could eat there every day of my life. Loaded mashed potatoes are my favorite. Next time I'm so trying the loaded baked sweet potatoe. Yumm.

I almost squished another mouse in my room the other day. Fun times. It ran under my bed and is just waiting for me... I just know it. JK they're not that bad, but still freaky knowing I have mice all over my house.

VERNAL

Can I just say that Vernal is my new favorite place. I used to DREAM of leaving this forsaken town in the middle of nowhere. But, after not being here for 2.5 months and returning, I'VE MISSED IT DEARLY.

Vernal is the type of place that hardly changes. And the changes a
re odd. Sometimes I come home and there's a college. Sometimes I come home and there's a new clinic, when we already have one. Sometimes there's new costumes for the big green T-Rex in the center of town. Ya just can never know with good ol' Vernal.

I miss the fun times I had in Vernal. I haven't had very many in Cedar, and I just miss having FUN. Which is weird because when I lived here, I thought the boredom would never end. But honestly I miss Vernal so much. I miss my friends dearly, and I just miss it all. Ha. But if the Lord brings you to it, He will bring you through it. My new favorite quote! So, I must be in Cedar for a reason. Now don't go thinking I hate Cedar, because I'm loving my new friends and even school and such, but nothing can compare.
Love to all my hometown readers, and to the readers of my new temporary home :)

Just Couldn't Stand It

Alright people. My last post... let's say DEPRESSING. After blog stalking several of my friends, and having a visit from JADE JOHNSON; my mood has lightened and I can't just not say anything.

Cecilly made me feel amazing by quoting me in her post. I don't think I've ever been quoted before, and it just made me feel so amazed with myself. Thanks Cecilly Rose :) She always seems to say nice things about me when I need it the most, she must have some help from someone. Cecilly is an amazing life-long friend. She is the epitome of a great friend and inspiration in itself. I only hope to do the things and be the person Cecilly is.

Sara had an experience the other day that just gave me the shivers. She went out of her way for her fellow peers to be more comfortable throughout their shift, and to help a several customers when they needed it. Check out her story, it's amazing. observationandexperience.blogspot.com. Post called "experience paying it forward."

Jade. That is all :) She always makes me happier! BFFS for life.

People just astound me. I just wish people know how important they are to others, and that the things they do inspire others. Just saying. PLEASE don't stop. TTFN

Travel, and The Passing Days

Tomorrow. Drive from Cedar to Vernal. 6 hours. NOT excited. Although I am excited to see friends and family :)

It seems that my days just blend together... I wish that something amazing would happen so that I can at least know that every day isn't the same. I know that it really isn't, and I'm just being pessimistic, but all I do every day is go to school, do homework, cook, and wash dishes. I wish some things would change.

Not gonna lie, I have some fun now and then :) Like tonight I drove with my Jade friend to Cedar mountain and took pictures. That was fun :) But all I do is study.

I can not wait to be home this weekend and forget about Cedar life for a couple days.
Peace and blessins, peace and blessins.

Night of posts...

Sorry everyone! I'm going crazy tonight with the posting :)

Recent incoming information has caused me to re-think the rest of my life. I was planning to serve a mission, finish my bachelors at the U, go to med school at the University of Washington, do my residency for the required 3 years, and then repay the air-force for paying for med school and work for them for four years. That WAS my plan.

Now, I just have no idea. It's said the average college student changes their major around 8 times. I can testify. First, I wanted to do graphic design sophomore year, then I was all into business administration. Then on to accounting, then on to law school, back to accounting, then to accounting AND law school, then med school. Tough road behind me, but major boulders ahead.

I LOVE the thought of the medical field. I loved the environment during my internship, and I would love to be a surgeon of some sort. It's just SO interesting and my cup of tea. But, at the U, I would basically have to start over. The programs somewhat related to pre-med are four more years after I've already finished my associates, plus all the other stuff in the first paragraph. That would be the next 17 years of my life. I would be 36 when I'd be free and working for
myself.

Even if I didn't have to start over, 15 years. That's a long time. Now I have NO idea and have to schedule next semesters courses tomorrow afternoon... NOT excited and I have no clue what I should do. I think accounting would be fun, and fit me, but I'm just not sure if it's THE right thing for me. And, I don't know where to go to school after my mission. I still have a year's scholarship here at SUU, but BYU is like number 1 in accounting; but I know it'd be a killer.

So my life is in the air right now, and I have no idea where it's going to land. I need a good inspiring song right now. Any suggestions?

The World

As you can tell I like traveling. I've been several places and I'm NOT going to stop. I would LOVE to re-visit the places I've been, but I'm FOR SURE going to re-visit London and Paris. London because I loved it, and would love to just be there not be on a schedule and just see the stuff I loved again. And Paris because you can't see Paris in just two days. Come on people.

So my next trip (minus the mish) I would love to visit one of those plus a new place to save on mulah.

I really want to see Italy, and there are sooo many amazing places I want to see there I think that should be my first trip. Go to Venice, Florence, Rome, Cicilly, and Pompeii. I think this is where'd I'd toss in London, just for kicks. But Italy just seems like a beautiful place with a culture totally opposite of the U.S. I love history too, and come on people, which civilization basically ruled the world for a lil bit? Oh yeah, the Romans :) It'd just be amazing.

Other trips, and places I'm going: Spain, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Austria, Kenye/Tanzania/Uganda (combined, or just one), China, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, southern Mexico (for the ancient ruins), and several of these would be included but I really want to do a Mediterranean cruise. The one I really want to do is 28 days and visits Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Morocco. AMAZING right? Hopefully my wife likes to travel :) Because that cruise would be an amazing honeymoon, just saying.

HAIRCUT

Okay, so this happened 4 days ago on Saturday so I'm behind the times, but I just never wanted to take a picture.

My mom usually cuts my hair, and does a very nice job. SURPRISE! My mom can't drive 6 hours whenever I need a haircut. SHOCKER... I know! So my awesome married friend Katie went to beautician school and so I thought OKAY. She did an awesome job, but shorter than I usually wear it.

It feels very dramatic because of my era of no haircut from move out date until last Saturday. But, I've gotten several compliments, and I kinda like the lightness vs. an extra 10 lbs of hair on top of my head.

PS. Katie thinks I should cut my hair even shorter and do like fo-hawkish. I don't know what to think about this because I haven't seen my forehead since 7th grade, but what say you?

Also sorry the pic is dark-ish, and I look funny, but best one I took ha.

Math in the average college students' mind

Dear Variable X,

Please grow up and solve your own problems. I have enough of my own.

Strangely Optimistic

Today should have been an awful day. Don't get me wrong, during those several instances I was very angry and depressed. But, soon after, and overall, today was great! I'm not quite sure what it was, but a lot of bad things happened to me.
The institute choir I'm in left late, so we got to our out-of-town performance late, making us leave late, making us arrive to Cedar late, making me tardy for math. Which for me, I can't afford to miss ANY lecture time. But I understood everything by the end of class. AMAZING. My phone's screen completely broke today but somehow Strata was able to put my number on my phone without even being there. I also spent an hour doing a stupid Microsoft access assignment and on the very last requirement, everything got deleted and I had to redo it. There were even more things that went wrong.
All I know is that today SHOULD have been awful, but it wasn't :) I even got 100% on my math quiz. SURPRISE!
I think that things and feelings happen for a reason. And although all of this bad stuff happened to me today, I never once let it get to me; I dealt with whatever was thrown. That's a good piece of advice I not only need to share, but absorb for myself. Life happens, and no matter what things can't change, so why let it change your day, or you life. Brush it off and move on. I could have thought oh my phone is broken, I can't call anyone. Or, I'm already late for math I'll be behind the rest of the lecture I shouldn't even go. But thankfully I didn't and had a great day :) Happy days to all of you.

Scarf!

Okay. Don't make fun, but I'm being Harry Potter for Halloween and really wanted a scarf to wear with everything. I look online, and they cost like 13-20 dollars. Now remember that I'm a poor college student with NO job. So I decided I would make my own. Yarn for 4 dollars, or 16 dollars for a scarf. No brainer. I first tried to knit. Knitting spelled backwards is Satan. I can't do it. So crocheting is the next best thing :) Being conference weekend, I got a lot done! So here is my probably 2/3 product!

Mouse Problem

So, I was already tired from staying up late, and my roommate Casey wakes me up at 5:30 repeating that there is a mouse in his dresser eating cookies he stashed in there. I really just wanted to go to bed. He makes me get up, and listen in his dark room. I did hear rustling in his dresser, so I believed him. He freaks out and responds by saying there's no way he can go back to bed. Casey decides to go to Wal-mart at 5:30 AM to buy some mouse traps.
While he was gone, the mouse runs out of his room, keeps along our wall, and hides behind several stacks of piano music, and Casey's digital piano. I jump up and stand in the doorway between our kitchen and the living room where the mouse was. Our front door is right next to the piano so I decide to open it and pray the mouse will just run out. Thankfully, we're PRETTY sure it did. Casey came back with the mouse traps, and we checked behind everything and no mouse! YAY!
